How this site is made, and how it might pay for itself.

We would rather over-explain than let you wonder. These are the house rules we hold ourselves to.

Tested, or on our list

Every dinner night carries one of two stamps. “Tried at our table” means we cooked it, our family ate it, and the recipe reflects what worked. “On our list — not yet cooked” means the recipe was researched and written for a country we have not cooked yet. We never move a recipe to the first stamp without actually cooking it. Serving sizes are the ones we got, not scaled estimates.

Pictures

Hero images are labeled under the picture. “AI-generated illustration” means the image was made with an image model to show the dish, not photographed. A photo credit names the photographer and links to the source and license when the picture is used under a Creative Commons license. Our own photos say so.

Affiliate links

We plan to link some ingredients and kitchen gear to shops. When we do, the link will be marked and we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only link things we would buy ourselves, and a commission never decides what we recommend. As an Amazon Associate, Table Trotter would earn from qualifying purchases; that sentence appears here now so it is true from the first day a link exists.

Advertising and sponsorship

There are no ads on the site today. If that changes, ads will be clearly separated from recipes and this page and our privacy page will be updated first. We do not take payment to feature a dish, a country, or a product inside a recipe.

Accuracy

Culture notes are written with care and checked against reliable sources, but food history is full of contested origins. Where accounts differ we say so rather than pick a winner. If we got something wrong about your country's food, we want to hear it.
